Dear SOM leaders,
A new tool is available to help you manage the fall semester onboarding process. As we mentioned in an email on Sept. 1, responsibility for approvals and completion of onboarding steps has been transitioned to department leaders. To support you in managing this process, this tool will provide:
- visibility to your department employees’ completion of the fall semester onboarding steps
- management of the return to campus approvals
Reminder
Employees who can perform their work remotely should continue to do so. Our priority continues to be the safety of faculty and staff who must be on campus, while maintaining density within our buildings as defined by SOM guidelines.
All Emory faculty, staff, and student employees that are on campus during the fall 2020 semester must complete the university’s health and safety training steps prior to accessing university facilities. This includes employees who never left campus or returned during the summer.
SOM Return to Campus (RTC) Approval App
The new app is located within the existing return to campus tool:
You should now be able to view your roster of employees, see their status in completing the onboarding steps, and record your departmental approval status for an employee – permitting their return on-campus access, or continuation of working remotely.
We ask that you use the app and record your department approval status by October 23, and also use it regularly to view and follow up with the employees that have not yet completed their onboarding steps.
Data downloads are available and include additional data fields on the employee, their space assignments and research lab group assignments that we collected during the summer ramp-up process, and a primary activity for the employee. These data elements are currently incomplete, and our focus for the next phase of app development will be to complete this data collection.
Get more information (Emory login required) on accessing and navigating the app.
