Dec. 22, 2025

Dear faculty, staff and learners:

2025 has been a remarkable year by every measure. As researchers, you have risen to the challenges of our current research funding environment, pursuing new funding sources and submitting more proposals—all with the goal of developing new diagnostics, treatments and cures that will improve the lives of people in Georgia and around the world. As clinicians, you show up every day offering skilled, compassionate care, providing hope to countless patients and their families who rely on Emory for our expertise in both the common and complex. As educators, you continue to come up with bold new strategies to educate learners and equip them to tackle complexities in their practice that many of us wouldn’t have been able to fathom a few decades ago. And to our learners—your commitment to making an impact inspires me every day. I especially enjoyed seeing our Physician Assistant and Anesthesiologist Assistant classes of 2025 at their commencement ceremonies on Friday. Congratulations to each one of you, and best wishes as you continue your journey!

I am truly grateful to be in the business of improving lives and providing hope, and honored to work alongside this dedicated and brilliant team to advance our mission. You have worked incredibly hard this year, and you deserve this time to recharge, relax and reconnect with friends and family in the coming days. I am profoundly grateful to those of you who will sacrifice time with your loved ones to care for patients in our clinics and hospitals during the break. Whatever your plans, I wish you a peaceful holiday season and a joyful start to the new year. I’m already looking forward to a wonderful year ahead.

My best,

Sandra
