Nov. 26, 2025

Dear SOM community:

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the learners, staff and faculty of our School of Medicine. Thanksgiving seems to mark the start of a season of celebration and connection. This season is especially meaningful because it brings multiple opportunities to celebrate you. The recent faculty recognitions event was inspiring and uplifting, and I look forward to honoring our dedicated staff at the staff awards event in early December. But most importantly, on a daily basis, I note that it is truly a privilege to support such talented and committed colleagues who consistently demonstrate excellence, compassion and a desire to have a positive impact in the world.

This season also brings opportunities to celebrate our outstanding students, including the recent White Coat ceremony. And congratulations to our M2s who just completed their preclinicals! In a few weeks, we will honor two classes of 2025 as they graduate from the Physician Assistant and Anesthesiologist Assistant programs.

I offer a special thanks to those who are working and caring for patients over the holiday. I hope you find time in the coming weeks to relax, reflect, recharge and enjoy the company of family and friends.

On behalf of our learners, our patients and our community, thank you for all you do.

With gratitude,

Sandra
