Carter Cooper PA-C, MMSc Neurosugery

Carter received his Bachelors degree at Georgia Tech, followed  by  a Master of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary, and finally the Master of Medical Science degree from Emory University PA Program 1997

Since graduating from Emory, I have worked as a physician assistant in neurosurgery. As a PA I am able to spend time with patients and their families as they face sometimes life threatening health challenges.

My prior experience as a minister and hospital chaplain has been useful in caring for the whole person. I enjoy teaching, helping patients understand the problems they present. Additionally, my supervising physician has encouraged me to help in training others by providing continuing education for nurses at our affiliated hospitals, speaking at the AAPA and our state organization, Emory;s annual PA board review course, and serving as a guest lecturer at PA programs. He has published articles in JAAPA & the PA Journal. He is a clinical mentor  and in 2001 was selected Emory PA Program Didactic Teacher of the Year.

Mostly, I simply enjoy caring for people and working to make them better.
