Welcome to our new PA Program Director, Maha Lund, DHSc, PA-C

August was a busy month for the Emory PA Program as we welcomed 54 new first year student and our new Program Director, Maha Lund. Prior to arriving in Atlanta, Dr. Lund served as the PA program director for Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her academic career began in 2004 when she first served as an adjunct lecturer and preceptor for PA students. She joined the faculty at MCPHS University full-time in 2008 and served in various faculty and leadership roles before becoming program director in 2011.

She received her PA training at Chatham University in Pennsylvania and worked as a hospitalist PA at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and at Brigham and Women’s Hospital   in Boston, MA.  She was a founding member of the Physician Assistant Clinical Educator (PACE) team, the first internal medicine PA service at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Academically her interests are in interprofessional education, ethics, transition to the clinical year, and active learning. Her doctoral studies, which she completed at NOVA Southeastern University in 2012, focused on teaching and leadership in health care professions. She brings to Emory her enthusiasm for working with students, broad experience in education and heart for the serving the underserved. We welcome Dr. Lund and her family to Emory!
