Research Areas

Our faculty consist of clinical and basic science investigators who conduct a broad range of basic, translational and clinical research on a variety of human malignancies. Through novel discoveries, we are leading the way to a better understanding and improved detection and treatment of cancer.

Fellowship Program

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program offered by Emory University School of Medicine and Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University provides clinical and research training in hematology and medical oncology.

Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is Georgia's only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and serves as the coordinating center for cancer research, education and care throughout Emory University.

Upcoming Symposium

The Debates and Didactics in Hematology and Oncology Conference (DDHO) features a comprehensive review into mechanisms of disease and treatments for patients with cancer or blood disorders. Celebrating 25 years! The 2025 conference will be held July 24-27 at Sea Island, Georgia. Registration is open.

Jonathon Cohen, a hematologist and medical oncologist at Winship Cancer Institute, is leading a project to expand clinical trials of new hematology therapies to rural Georgians by building connections with oncologists throughout the state to create broader access to the complex clinical infrastructure that makes it possible to carry out medical trials.
