(What should learners be able to do after the session?)

  1. Describe the ACGME definition of supervisory levels (i.e. direct, indirect and oversight)
  2. Recognize their own supervision needs with regard to their clinical and procedural skills
  3. Identify key elements of an optimal supervisory relationship and learning environment
  4. Recognize when increasing supervision is needed for their colleagues ( e.g. peers, junior residents, medical students)
