  • Majority of alumni are interested in a health-related career and working towards their goal
  • 31 alumni are enrolled in a health profession program

  • 7 alumni are enrolled/graduated from an Emory professional/graduate program (MPH;MD;AA;PA)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you be a recent graduate and apply?

YES, a recent graduate can be considered if they demonstrate a strong interest in applying to health graduate and professional schools for medicine.

Will the 2024 program be held virtually or in-person?

The HealthPREP summer program will be held in-person (subject to change).

Is housing given, if so is it free and where?

Yes, we provide housing at no cost to the student. Housing is usually provided on one of Emory's campuses (subject to change).

When are students notified if they are selected?

Final decisions will be made in April.

Are students paid to be part of this program?

Students will receive a stipend of $1000 to subsidize living/travel expenses.

Can students take classes at Emory if they are in this program?

No, this is a full-time 8-week program.

Can they take classes somewhere else?

The HealthPREP schedule is extremely full and students need to dedicate hours Monday- Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm during the program dates, and some evening times depending on programming.

Is travel to and from Atlanta, GA provided?

No. Students are expected to make travel arrangements on their own.

Also when you are at the program, is travel included?

Travel to and from the Emory campuses is provided from the housing site by the Emory shuttle. The Emory Shuttle transportation is provided to available locations.

Can a student leave the program?

No, students must be available during the full 8-week duration of the program.

Is there a meal plan?

No, unless it is a lunch or dinner as a part of one of our program activities. There is a stipend ($1,000) to help supplement living expenses.
