Mr. Barwick joined the School of Medicine as Assistant Dean for Administration in 2005 and was promoted to Associate Dean for Administration in 2007. His day-to-day responsibilities include the development and review of agreements between the School of Medicine and outside entities; staff training and other staff development programs; faculty affairs, including appointments and problem-solving; policy development; legal and regulatory matters; and a variety of special projects.
Mr. Barwick’s professional experience includes over ten years of law practice with a focus on business and health law issues. Before assuming his present position, he was Associate Counsel at State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Mr. Barwick received his bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and his law degree summa cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law. He also earned a master’s degree in health economics and administration at Ben Gurion University in Israel.
