Emory and the Atlanta VAMC share back-to-back campuses and a partnership that stretches back more than six decades. In 2010, Emory-directed research funding totaled $29 million and involved more than 500 projects covering areas ranging from diabetes and drug addiction to cancer, HIV/AIDS, depression, hypertension, and dementia.
