Elective Opportunities

An Introduction to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation demonstrates a deeper understanding of the basic principles, techniques, and skills of physical medicine and rehabilitation, including an emphasis on functional assessment and the role of the rehabilitation team in patients with serious disabilities as well as outpatients with rehabilitative patients. Students are exposed to the broad range of contemporary research in rehabilitation including the emerging use of neuroimaging techniques to understand the basis of rehabilitation, innovative rehabilitation strategies such as tai chi, and insights into the social behavioral determinants of rehabilitation effectiveness.
