LIBRARIES

The 13 libraries and centers and 11 special collections at Emory University provide the resources, facilities, and services for research and study for the entire Emory community. Total collections for the University include nearly 2.8 million volumes, extensive electronic information resources, approximately 17,000 linear feet of manuscripts, and a growing inventory of non-print materials. The libraries maintain more than 38,000 subscriptions to serials and periodicals—many in electronic format. Extensive holdings also are maintained in government documents, microforms, and manuscripts. EUCLID , the Emory’s integrated online library system, contains records for all campus library holdings.

The Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library (www.healthlibrary.emory.edu) provides a wide range of services and information resources specifically for the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Emory community. Collections include the A.W. Calhoun Medical Collections, the Alice Kydd Davis Nursing Collection, and the Sheppard W. Foster Dental Collection. In addition, the library includes the collection of the American Cancer Society, which was donated to Emory when the society moved its national headquarters to Atlanta . The collections number more than 250,000 volumes and 1,800 current periodicals (many available online), as well as numerous audiovisual materials. Facilities include a computer lab and an electronic classroom. The webpage provides online access to a wealth of databases and full-text resources in all areas of the health sciences. MedWeb, the library’s popular collection of 17,000 biomedical websites, is also available from this website.

The Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library is located at 1462 Clifton Road . Students working at Grady Memorial Hospital are served by two facilities: the Grady Branch Library, located in the Thomas K. Glenn Building ; and, the Electronic Satellite Library, located inside Grady Memorial Hospital .
