COMPUTER ACCESS AT EMORY UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
The new Emory University School of Medicine Building offers state of the art computer access in all of the new lecture halls, small group classrooms, computer classrooms, the student lounge and in study spaces located throughout the entire complex. In addition, the Computing Center at Cox Hall is Emory's state of the art collaboration lab for Emory faculty and students. Located in the heart of campus at Cox Hall, Emory's newest computer center is designed specifically for faculty/student interaction and is dedicated to new models of learning and collaborative activities. Creative lighting, large computer monitors, SmartBoards, and comfortable seating all combine to form a modern, relaxed atmosphere perfect for group study or just a cup of coffee.
Throughout the Center, special attention has been devoted to combining flexible space with integrated technologies that enhance and encourage communication and collaboration among the Emory community. Outfitted with specially designed furniture and equipped with leading edge hardware and software, the facility is the perfect location to practice PowerPoint with fellow presenters, review online material as a group, complete iMovie assignments, or just relax while catching up on email.
The Computing Center at Cox Hall is equipped with a combination of Apple Macintosh and Dell workstations and laptops. These computers are configured with a variety of office productivity and multimedia applications, including video editing and DVD production software. What makes the Cox environment unique is the flexible seating and large multi-monitor configurations, allowing for groups of 3 or 4 to work on projects together in a comfortable, inviting atmosphere.

Collaborative Classrooms and Work Areas
The Collaborative Classrooms are designed to foster innovative interaction among faculty and students. Faculty teaching in these spaces can work with students in a flexible environment that includes wireless laptops, mobile seating, SMART interactive touch screens, and Crestron controlled multimedia podiums.
Students and student groups can meet and work together in the Collaborative Classrooms and the Fishbowl conference room when not in use by academic classes.

The Computing Center also includes several collaborative work areas that offer flexible space for study groups, class breakout sessions, or presentation preparation.
Plasma Pole
The Plasma Pole is equipped with a 50" Pioneer Plasma screen with a Matisse SMART overlay, giving it touch-screen capabilities and electronic whiteboard features. Using the built-in Dell workstation, students can brainstorm papers, study content from a Blackboard course site, practice PowerPoint presentations or watch videos or DVDs for class projects.
Collaboration Corner (GRAPE)
The Collaboration Corner (GRAPE) is equipped with a SMART 3000i DVIT rear projection interactive whiteboard and touch screen. It also has a built-in Dell workstation allowing for study sessions and other collaborative activities.
Whiteboards
In other areas, students can brainstorm on whiteboards, work together using wireless laptops or simply relax with a cup of coffee.
