We provide standardized workstation configuration and support, procurement and disposal of technology related equipment, security and risk management, inventory solutions, access to workstation professionals and facilitation access to secure data storage.
The Curricular Support team provides assistance with the development, implementation and support of innovative curriculum-centered technologies. In collaboration with the Office of Medical Education and Student Affairs (OMESA) and the Emory Center for Experiential Learning (ExCEL), the Curricular Support team manages all aspects of the technology experience from Orientation to Capstone for 950 students in the realms of online testing, classroom computing, medical and clinical simulation.
For the classroom and conference rooms in SOM as well as PA Room 298 and the Whitehead Auditorium, we provide presentation set-up support. In addition, will provide instructional support for AV equipment. Based on the room's audio-visual infrastructure, additional services include electronic recording of lectures and best effort video-conferencing support with technical support from the other location. Consulting services from department requirements, technology selection, vendor management and implementation are also available.
We offer first level support for software and applications developed including password resets, browser support and other initial help. We also manage the escalation of software issues to the next level of support. Please contact the SOMITS Help line 404-72SOMIT (404-727-6648) for assistance.
Working closely with departments and offices, we design and deploy a full range of applications, including systems custom developed to those purchased from a commercial vendor. Our group consists of project managers, business analysts, configuration administrators, and programmers to provide the appropriate level of assistance that is required.
