Mr. Barwick joined the School of Medicine as Assistant Dean for Administration in 2005 and was promoted to Associate Dean in 2007. His day-to-day responsibilities include oversight of faculty affairs and faculty relations issues; the development, review and approval of agreements between the School of Medicine and outside entities; key administrative processes, including review of faculty grievances; policy development; academic and research misconduct matters; legal and regulatory matters; and a variety of special projects.
Mr. Barwick's previous professional experience includes over ten years of law practice with a focus on business and health law issues. Before assuming his present position, he was Associate Counsel at State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Mr. Barwick received his bachelor's degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and his law degree summa cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law. He also earned a master's degree in health economics and administration at Ben Gurion University in Israel.
