Dr. Berry is the Assistant Dean of Medical Education and Director of Continuing Medical Education. He is also a Professor of Anesthesiology. He received his undergraduate degree at Emory University and medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. After completing an anesthesia residency and fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, he joined the faculty at Emory in 1978. In 1997, he received his Masters of Public Health in epidemiology from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.
Dr. Berry has served as a member of the Accreditation Review Committee and the Board of Directors of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and received their Hero Award for service. He was on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research and was selected as a charter member of the FAER Academy of Education Mentors in Anesthesiology. He has also served as Vice President for Scientific Affairs for the American Society of Anesthesiologists and as a member of the Maintenance of Certification Committee of the American Board of Anesthesiology. He was the recipient of the Duke Award for Excellence in Education from the Society for Education in Anesthesia and the Distinguished Service by a Physician Award from the American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants.
