My research examines the osteogenic differentiation and matrix mineralization of mouse embryonic stem cells. Embryonic stem cells represent a promising cell source for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications, as in the use of bone forming cells to repair bone defects, and further investigation of their directed differentiation will not only enhance our ability to derive cells for such applications but also provide a window into the early stages of bone development and formation.
